Honey Kalaria,

dance impressario and Founder of UK’s top Bollywood dance and stage school, Honey’s Dance Academy, is to appear on the hit BBC primetime show, ‘So You Think You Can Dance’ on Saturday 23rd January.

For the forthcoming show, Honey has taught a Bollywood routine to five of the best female dancers in the UK. Audiences will be able to see the dancers’ journey from being trained in the art form to finally performing it. Honey worked closely with show producer Gareth Davies and his team to prepare a Bollywood routine for the group to perform in front of the judging panel and the studio audience.

Comments Honey,  “It has been a great experience as I love being creative and artistic, and working with a fantastic team at the BBC has made it even more fun – from researchers to stylists right through to rehearsal coordinators and camera men. All the dancers I worked with were extremely friendly, pleasant and worked hard to pick up the Bollywood style. You will just have to wait and watch to see how they perform!”

The best of the best choreographers from the industry have been invited to choreograph various dance routines for ‘So You Think You Can Dance’ so that the audience can enjoy a range of dance styles which will be performed by the ten shortlisted dancers.

Bollywood Dance Queen and entertainment impresario Honey Kalaria founded Honey’s Dance Academy (HDA) in 1991. Since its inception, the famed dance academy has grown to over 13 London Studios and has cast its dance students in major film, TV and stage roles in the likes of Harry Potter, BBC Proms, Jamie Oliver’s Oliver Twist, Bombay Dreams and blockbuster Bollywood movies such as Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham.

Open to all skill levels, Honey’s Dance Academy has taken novice dancers and trained them to perform on the most glamorous of stage and film sets. With Bollywood ever growing in popularity and now reaching global audiences, the appeal to learn and perform in the Bollywood arts has attracted students from all cultural backgrounds – something HDA strongly encourages.
